As the opening game week of the EPL draws close, pundits and fans have predicted who will be crowned the champion this season and the teams that will finish top four in the EPL table. It doesn’t get much better than this, besides being the only time of the year we see Arsenal sit comfortably atop the EPL table with Aston Villa, Bournemouth and Brentford being the top four teams before the ball is kicked in EPL play, every team has high hopes for the campaign.

It’s going to be a thrilling campaign, teams have bolstered their squads, new signings coming in from other leagues, and some domestic transfers, new managers also coming in and the newly promoted teams coming with the mindset of not getting relegated again. No one wants to be left behind, even the fans are berating their clubs to sign more players because they want their clubs to come up top. It’s going to be a fierce battle this season for the title and we all live for this.

Here are my top four predictions for this season’s EPL campaign:

LIVERPOOL

Shocking, right? Yeah! I know. You might think it’s just a pipe dream but I am banking on this.

With the loss of Mane to Bayern Munich, Pundits and fans have written off Liverpool even supercomputers predicted too. But this is football, the unexpected happens. It’s not going to be easy for Liverpool winning the title this season even with the new signing Darwin Nunez who scored four goals in one of their friendlies & against Manchester City last weekend. They will have to rely on Darwin Nunez to settle quickly like Luis Diaz did, which is obviously a long shot because we all have seen that the Columbian took to English football like a duck to water. Liverpool beat Manchester City to win their first ever community shield after 16 years. Just like City, they are favorites to clinch the title they lost out on last season after the two-horse race.

MANCHESTER CITY

I know they are favorites alongside Liverpool this season to retain the title but I strongly believe they won’t be able to do so even though they have strengthened the squad with the likes of Haaland, and Alvarez, Kalvin. Teams are bringing in their A-Game this season and it’s going to be a very competitive one. Only Kalvin has had EPL experiences and the rest will have to adapt to the pace of the league. They might look very good on paper but the rest is left to be seen on the pitch. Pep will have to change his attacking setup to accommodate Haaland and play to his strengths. It might take time for Haaland and the rest of the Man City team to adapt to this system.

MANCHESTER UNITED

Man Utd are coming into this campaign with a renewed spirit after the appointment of Eric Ten Hag as the manager and also with the acquisition of new players to bolster the club in the likes of Malacia, Martinez and Erikson and they still want to bring in more players to strengthen the team, it’s too early to write them off. They had a terrible campaign last season and would want to make up for that this season and win silverware. We have seen their new playing style in the preseason, you might say it was just a preseason but the team is in great spirit, the coach is instilling a new mindset in them, and we all know the abilities of ETH, we all saw what he did in the Dutch league and he’s capable of replicating that here in England.

ARSENAL

Another shocking prediction, right? They showed glimpses of what they are capable of last season and with their new acquisitions, they are bound to challenge. They had an impressive run in the preseason friendlies and Gabriel Jesus settled right in to fire them ahead. I strongly feel that the gunners are going to be a force to reckon with. They look confident going forward and in defense even though they have to work on their concentration and sustaining those concentration levels throughout the campaign. With Consistency and a few more signings for depth, they are bound to finish top four this season.
