The Italian Serie A has for a few seasons taken the center stage as the hub of competitiveness since the dethronement of Juventus dynasty in 2020. The recent Juventus dynasty that took over in 2012 after Inter Milan had the trophy for 5years, from 2006 to 2010 before AC Milan won the trophy in 2011 and Juventus took over from 2012 to 2020. Since the end of this long years of championship by Juventus in 2020, the three different teams have won the Serie A; Inter Milan 2021, AC Milan 2022, Napoli 2023 and Inter Milan 2024. This shows how competitive this league has become in recent times and the new season is not going to be an exception as many of them are in the transfer market with the aim of employing talents that will take them to their desired place in this competition.

Amongst the big teams that has graced this league are the likes of Inter Milan, AC Milan, Juventus, Napoli who have struggled a lot last season after they won the league in 2023, Atlanta who had a fantastic run in the in the UEFA Europa League and emerged as the champions after a 3-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen in the final, Lazio the two times champions and so on. A Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan have stood out not just as the three best teams in the league, but have extended their performances beyond the shores of Italy as they have combined to win 12Champions League titles, AC Milan 7times champions, Inter Milan 3times champions and Juventus 2times Champions and they are the only teams to have won the Champions league in the Italian Serie A history.

Inter Milan has been on the main force in Serie A since they snatched the League from the hands of Juventus in 2021; they have gone on to defy all odds to give the “we have come to stay” impression which has not been an easy job to do since they have the title just twice since 2021 with AC Milan and Napoli in between. The 20times Italian Serie A champions started and finished last season in such a strong fashion amidst pressure from Juventus. They calmed the sea of pressure from Juventus with a 1-0 win over Juventus in the second leg of their Italian Serie A tie. This win left Juventus devastated and this gave Inter Milan the wings to fly not only that, but the opportunity to sower higher and this saw them finish the league with 94points, 19points off AC Milan who finished 2nd with 75points. Their play last season was so direct and attack minded, leaving the opposition defense in deep pressure with mistakes immanent as an own goal was what won the match for them in their 1-0 win over Juventus in the second leg of their Serie A tie. Inter Milan maintained a high level performance all through last season. They, while they attacked where defensively up and doing as they conceived only 22goals across the 38league matches last season, scoring 89goals and having 67goal difference. They have showed how well and much they can achieve so far and the fans will be expecting an excellent season like they did last season. Lautaro Martinez carried his awesome form from the club to his country Argentina for the Copa America and ended as top scorer for Copa America and Italian Serie A last season. A lot will be expected from him this season as both the team and fans will look up to him to step up for the team and score goals and he will have the attention of the opposing defenders. A lot will be expected from this team.

AC Milan finished 2nd last season with 19points behind Inter Milan, who won the league. Inter won the league last season to break ties with AC Milan to clinch their 20th Serie A title while AC Milan still has 19titles and looking forward to the 20th. This could be the year they equal this tally while both Milan clubs will still have their eyes fixed on Juventus who has far more Serie A titles, 36titles. However, AC Milan will start with Inter Milan who are within reach. They have so far in the transfer market introduced the a center back Pavlovic and the 2024 Euro champion center forward Alvro Morata to the team to give them better quality and purpose. They hope to better their team the more as they are still out for a center midfielder with Youssouf Fofana as one of their main target in the center of midfield.

Juventus had a decent and very promising start to the 2023/24 campaign with very high hopes of returning to glory in the Italian Serie A. Since they left the corridors of power in 2020 when they won their last title, they have struggled to win the league. Finishing 3rd last season was something they never imagined but realizing that they have to struggle to finish third trills. They finished the league season with 71points and 2points off Atlanta who finished 4th with 69points. Juventus in the first part of the season went toe-to-toe with Inter Milan trying to capitalize on any mistake from the Milan side to takeover full leadership from the Inter Milan as it was one point separating them. On the 4th of February, 2024 Fredrico Gatti scored an own goal in the 37th from a cross in the Inter Milan vs Juventus Serie A second leg tie, a match they were hoping to be their opportunity to overcome Inter Milan and show them who the boss is. It turned out to be a loss they never recovered from, despair certainly must have crept in despite fact that it was still February and they have till May to turn things around. They went on to loss matches and ended up struggling to have a top four finish. They are all out in the transfer window this summer for a possible upgrade to their team. They have so far in the transfer market secured the signature of the central midfielders Douglas Liuz and Khephren Thuram amongst others to strengthen their team. A lot will be expected from the Old Ladies this season as they will be looking to get back to glory as they have been too long away from the trophy. It will be a struggle for the top the league once again.

The Italian Serie A this season will be a struggle for the top spot among the biggest names in the League while the rest of the teams will have their own part to play without ruling out surprises as it is characteristic of football.

Do not miss this power tussle the Italian Serie A promises!!!!
